Trello Customer Review
Overall Rating
I've used Trello for everything from personal, volunteer, and work projects. I think it's a very simple, yet effective way to hold individuals and yourself accountable which is the whole point of a project management tool.
Trello knocks it out of the park for an easy, simple user-interface, added workflow features, and third party integrations. The main area that Trello could improve upon is their capacity and storage, it's a little hard to know what plan works best for you until you're using it and their customer service could be more accessible. Those seem like minor details to me considering how easy and useful Trello is.
Trello
While Trello may not initially appear as a very robust tool, it does offer it's fair amount of workflow management features. Within a board, on specific cards, you can do the following:
- Comment
- Assign responsible individuals for that task
- Set a due date for the card
- Create a checklist of action items required to complete the card
- Add labels to categorize the card.
Trello will then notify you of assignments to specific cards and provide repeated reminders of due dates for cards, especially those that are overdue. The one area where Trello may be lacking for some is in longer term or milestone tracking, that's less readily available or forward-facing on Trello. That being said, kanban in general is it's own milestone tracking in a sense.
Trello Business Third Party Integrations
Trello has power-ups to improve it's functionality that are available to be implemented (depending on your subscription plan). Some power-ups are offered by third-party individuals while others are what one might typically consider to be an app integration. Trello does integrate with most major office software tools such as Google Drive, Slack, Jira and many more. For the full list of integrations available for Trello, view here, or check out your office tools' integration details.
Trello
Trello is simply not a tool that accommodates reporting and analytics for teams, at least not in it's basic/come as you are kind of package. Trello is strictly a task management/workflow management tool using kanban.
If you wish, you can add "Power-Ups" or third-party integrations to Trello for more advanced features and functionality, including reporting and analytics. It's a huge plus that Trello even offers these additional add-ons, and it does indicate how many people have installed it in their app so you know if it's a quality tool or not. The only negative about these is that they are third-party, typically created by other avid Trello users and not another company per say.
Trello
Trello is fairly customizable through a few different avenues. You can customize the background of the boards and cards if you would like to be branded specifically to your business. You can also customize your personal profile including email, bio, picture, and the visibility of the profile. Trello, also allows for customization through the Butler feature. Power-ups/integrations on Trello may allow for additional customization, but Trello is lacking in this regard slightly since it's limited to a kanban board structure.
Trello
Trello has three different plans that limit the use, features, and capacity of the tool. Trello does offer a free version that actually has unlimited boards and cards, but essentially limits the additive workflow features such as the "commands" like assigning the card, commenting, or adding a due date. It does allow for boards to be shared though, up to 10 team boards, which is fantastic truly.
The paid versions of the platform allow for heavier collaboration between boards within teams. They also increase the file size limit that can be uploaded and attached to a card. Finally, the paid versions allow for unlimited power-ups, app integrations, and added security features.

Trello
Trello is entirely a basis of kanban, which essentially allows it to translate into scrum or agile framework for project management. They also have board templates for project management specifically available in the app. With customizable boards and columns for each board, you can opt to creat the sprint backlog, review, product backlog and other necessary elements to complete your biweekly sprints.
Sprint planning can be done with ease on Trello with all the added workflow features, such as commenting, assigning, and labels for point/time estimations.
Trello
Trello offers a great online learning guide for questions on how to best utilize the tool and conduct certain actions within the app. There's also an in-app help tool called "Butler" that provides suggestions or tips and tricks on how to get the most out of the tool.
Trello, unfortunately, only allow for their actual support team to be contacted via a form submission once logged into your account. In this day and age, this is definitely something that should be improved for the sake of convenience for their customers. You can also contact the Trello community forum to try to get your question answered.
